How does /u/She being a SJW have anything to do with this? The issue here is loose rules that could (and have been) abused.
Because this whole outcry started over /u/she being an "SJW" and censoring critical discussions.
Removing /v/AskVoat was to send a message that things like this wouldn't be tolerated, not to destroy all honest moderators (and if you want to go there, free speech)
I don't disagree with making Voat a default sub, but I do disagree with throwing /u/she under the bus like he did and not asking /u/she for an explanation. Had communication with the mods had been going on this issue would have been settled before it got to that point. Atko browses /v/AskVoat, he knew the rules. Another thing that @Atko mentioned was that the post had a lot of upvoats and that it angers people. I do not disagree with that except that /v/AskVoat is extremely understaffed and she's request has been pending for 23 days now, meanwhile other subs have already been transferred. If /v/AskVoat was not understaffed then the post would not have been up as long since it violated the rules.
The reason Automod and private subs aren't here is because Voat is still in alpha. I do agree these should be priorities though.
That is no excuse. Atko says that he is grateful for the mods and that he wants us to "nurture and grow the community" yet he is not giving level 2 mods the ability to access all sections of the subverse settings, we have no automod, and there have been very minimal if any improvements to moderating subverses in the past 30 days. Instead @Atko thinks removing default subs without even asking the mods what is going on and that doing away with voating restrictions is more important than giving mods more tools. I mean for christ sakes the "message the moderator" button doesn't even work. Hell at the very least give users a way to report things to mods. These are things that should have been implemented since day one. If Atko was truly grateful for the mods he would be supporting us, and he isn't at least I am not seeing it.
