Why is headlight fluid so hard to find? Every time I ask for it at autozone they just laugh at me, is it because I'm a girl?

Also, I just now recognized you. You probably know more about fluids than I do.

Just keep asking, you will find out eventually. It's usually right next to the blinker fluid.

What are your thoughts on the future of automotive computing? Do you think it will be come more automatic and /or would people have a manual sent to their email while their self-driving robot car is getting serviced by an automotive repair technician who just got electrocuted repairing said car. Not being a smart-ass. I've asked a lot of techs who say that automation and electric cars might be trouble for their business (mainly voltage shocks and dealer-only repairs.)

I'm excited. Electrical troubleshooting is the best part of my job. Techs that don't embrace technology will become dinosaurs. I specialize in electrical, so things like GM global coming out don't scare me a bit.

You will have to be more specific as far as size and usage.

I have a 2002 civic with ~100k miles. Driving to work a few months back, the A/c seemed noisy so I turned it off. I got hot a little later so I turned it back on and when I did it sounded like something fell of the engine and clanged around. Then my a/c stopped working. I looked around the engine compartment and everything seems intact to my ignorant eyes. Any theories on what happened and how much it could cost to fix?

Your a/c compressor most likely locked up and broke the drive belt. If you look again you will see a pulley with no belt on it. A new compressor, dryer, and a flush. I can get you some numbers if you want. That way you can decide whether it's worth fixing.

You will have more in fixing it than it's worth most likely.

So, you're a mechanic?

I think so? I don't understand why OP didn't use the colloquial term for his work. Until I saw the comments I thought he worked as someone who certifies vehicles before they leave for retail.

Technician is the colloquial term. Anyone that can figure out how to turn a bolt can be a mechanic. Ask anyone under 60 that works on vehicles what they do and they will tell you they are an automotive tech.

Self importance.

I'm an racist, misogynistic alcoholic. But I prefer the term: culturally unenriched, connoisseur of libations guys guy.

I'm excited about electric vehicles. They can't come fast enough.
