You would think more of us would realize it doesn't matter what opinions you hold so long as your actions are acceptable. Moderating according to the rules publicly agreed to isn't something SJWy.

The most frightening part about all of this seems to be that Atko, and the various mobs, seem to LIKE the very broken idea of reddit moderation: Inconsistent moderation that allows for hand-picking of things mods don't want to see. @She has a history of deleting AskVoat submissions that are literally in line with her political ideology as well, as she deleted @Somescientologists askvoat "guideline" submission on the soapboxing rule - even though it's in line with her radical leftist posts.

Agree agree, agree. Glad people are still talking about this. @Atko's decision was rash and unprofessional.

So you want people to ask you questions about it? Why is this ins /v/IAMA?

You can if you want. This is the most visible sub I mod and a lot of the mods agree that this is something that needs to have attention drawn to it. The mods opinions are not being represented here. It is an echo-chamber of Atko praise and She hate. As someone who mods a big sub and has had repeated messaged ignored it is beyond frustrating to see that the average user has no clue what we are having to go through.

Ohh, I see. So you're posting it here for visibility. That makes sense. Do you think it will go down well?

Hey guess what it's his site and he can do what the fuck he wants. He didn't sensor anything and I'm pretty sure that's the only thing that actually matters in this debate. If youre a mod in a default and you piss off the person gives you the ability to exist as a mod then you get to deal with the consequences. It's the same concept your cop buddies like to argue. Don't comply with an officer that has a weapon drawn and we get to deal with the consequences.

I am not disagreeing with removing it as a default. I am disagreeing with him not hearing both sides of the argument and not being supportive of mods. This was just the straw that broke the camels back so to speak.

Can we not bring cops into this. Cops has nothing to do with what we are talking about.

I bring them up because it is an example you can understand that is directly relevant. Perps shot dead don't get their side heard. Neither does /u/she and you both get to deal with it. This is a lame attempt to drive a wedge in the community. If you don't think Atko is being supportive of mods then stop being a mod. Wow what a fuckin concept.

Damn, don't exaggerate the issue.

  1. How does /u/She being a SJW have anything to do with this? The issue here is loose rules that could (and have been) abused.

  2. Removing /v/AskVoat was to send a message that things like this wouldn't be tolerated, not to destroy all honest moderators (and if you want to go there, free speech)

  3. The reason Automod and private subs aren't here is because Voat is still in alpha. I do agree these should be priorities though.
