Surprisingly in kansas found a middle of nowhere pump (literally just a pump and a camera, nearest town was about 50 miles away) for like 2.38

Thanks for doing this AMA. Couple things:

What kind of vehicle were you driving?

Also, please describe the worst crapper you encountered.

A 2014 toyota corolla. Around 34 mpg which was awesome.

Hmm... There was i think a colorado rest area bathroom, can't really remember the state, that had two stalls and one urinal. The urinal was wrapped up and covered in... well it was liquid. The first stall was classically backed up with shit and other sewer items rising to the surface. The final stall had brown streaks staining the porcelian and no lock on the door. So yeah, there was toilet paper and it didn't stink, it was just poorly maintained.

PCS move for the navy. There was no motivation, it was a need.

My trip went like this:

New York

Pennsylvania bypass (little bitty part that touches the great lakes)

Ohio

Kentucky

Tennessee

Arkansas

Texas

Missouri

Kansas

Colorado

Wyoming

Utah

Idaho

Oregon

Washington

Western washington state is hands down my favorite. Its so pretty and full of trees and mountains and shit. Also seattle is here which is cool.

The western coast can be beautiful. I remember seeing the redwood trees in California when I went on a trip with my family back when I was like 10. It's one thing to see them in a picture, it's another to get right next to one and look straight up. Did you go to the Mammoth Caves when you were in Kentucky?

What was your favorite meal out of the whole trip and where was it??

Sounds like a lot of fun, I'm quite envious of you. Perhaps I will commit to a long roadtrip sometime soon

I'm going to be doing a cross-country trip also, just car-less and with a tent, at the beginning of next year. Any suggestions on places I need to see while I'm out there?

How did you keep yourself entertain yourself while driving?

Watching the other cars around me(finding one that follows you is great!), listening to music(289 songs that looped 3 times), using my imagination.

Using my imagination was the most effective because I was able to create a world and live in it for thirty minutes or so until traffic changed and i had to react to something.
