TL;DR Spammer is trying to pressure/blackmail me using /v/conspiracy's community. Ask me anything about the situation, or my approach to modding!
Yesterday I removed an obvious spam post (mod log) made by LockedPost and subsequently banned him from /v/writing as a spammer. The decision wasn't made lightly; it was a result of going through is submission history first. For further reading, here is are just some of his archived posts, seemign to advertise the same sites over and over: http://archive.is/eiUvx, http://archive.is/5mahh, http://archive.is/Rb6Zy .
This morning, I woke up to this message:
The fact that his post had received exactly five upvoats so quickly in a sub which, in my experience, has traditionally punished such spammy posts was the second red flag for me. In fact, it prompted me to go through his submission history, which I highlighted in this reply to him...
... only to realize that he had also sent me this message, too...
I don't think he's actually asking for "permission" to repost anything I say. Now, I could be wrong, but it read more to me like he was trying to threaten me with a witch-hunt. Why would the fact that I banned one person who made what appear to be obvious spam posts be of interest to /v/conspiracy?
Ah, but this isn't /v/AskConspiracy. This is /v/IAMA.
So, feel free to ask me about @LockedPost's post removal and banning from /v/writing for being a spammer. Or, ask me about my approach to modding. Hell, you can ask me anything, really! I have to jump off for work soon, but I'll be back tonight to answer what I can!
