Yes. I was an EMT before FPH was on reddit, and was so happy to find it. Before I got onto 911 shifts I had to work inter facility transport and one of our frequent flier dialysis patients required a lift assist 3 times a week. Bitch was 500 pounds, whined like no other person ever, and had the most infuriating voice. She demanded the smoothest ride possible, so one of my partners always made it as bad as he could. Glorious.

It wasn't until I heard about the experiences of EMTs and the increasing sizes of gurneys and ambulances that I started taking the fat epidemic seriously.

Most of the patients we have are too heavy for just two of us to move. And even though we have a hydraulic gurney, it struggles on many patients to lift itself.
