  1. How long have you been sober?

  2. What did you do to get sober?

  3. What would you recommend for those trying to help loved ones suffering from addiction?

1) Almost 3 years 2) cold turkey, then went to see a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with Bipolar 1, sever depression and severe PTSD. (My childhood was terrible. My father sexually and physically abused me over 12 years.) 3) That's a tough one. I'm an orphan so I don't have the experience to answer truthfully. However, I would recommend getting them into rehab as soon as possible. The longer the rehab the better chances they have of staying sober.

Thank you. That's an interesting life you have there.

Something here just doesn't add up. Are you bullshitting us?

I'd like to additionally ask how long it took you to become sober, and from what and what circumstances.

The overdose I had woke me up to the reality of my life. I realised that I'd probably end up dead. That shocked my into becoming sober from heroin. After the overdose it took me about 6-8 months to pack my shit up and move states. I find it hard to make friends because eventually they ask about my past and I'm sick of lying to them, so I avoid contact with people.
