One of the soviet produced cars had a build in hatch on the passenger side so you could go ice fishing without leaving the car.

I have a buddy that lives in Yellowknife and has something like this mobile ice fishing shack that has hatches in the floor.

You could not do that with normal doors!

Suicide doors?

I always understood suicide doors to be the ones you can't open unless the one in front is open, usually leading to a tiny cramped back seat. Imagine you're in the back and the driver and passenger are dead and the engine is catching fire.
