We used to live about 25 miles east of Austin, TX. The only time we saw them during daylight hours were the school age ones going to and from the School bus stop. Never saw any playing in the streets until dark. In the summer that was 9-10pm, and you could hear them until 5-6am. Then around 7-8am I'd start mowing my lawn and using the weed eater and leaf blower for a couple hours.
