You know, the more I read about Japan during WWII... It was about as honest as a war could get. I don't so much see them as bad guys as just doing their thing.

considering pearl harbour was only a suprise to the people and not the military... they had warning. They allowed it to get involved in the war without having to wait for a vote.

WW2 still had the clear division of class guiding the ethics of the war. Elites were treated with dignity, the lower class were tools for an end. The GI bill is what broke this elitest ethics stranglehold on the world. Resulting in the revolution against the unethical experiments that happened around the world, but focusing on the losers of the war.

The allies could easily been protrayed similarly to the Germans and Japanese given the facts. But as the winners they didn't have foreign countries exposing all of their experiments and wartime choices in a negative light.
