Fair enough and I don't disagree. But back to the point I was making, dissenting opinions are now often considered insulting. The fact is something you say is going to insult or offend someone somewhere, what happens if your opinions offend a moderator on a website? Now you are silenced and Frederick Douglas' quote rings true, now your rights are violated and so are mine. We are both on voat for our own reasons, and I will share mine; reddit became increasingly censorship heavy and only one message/one thought was being shared. Here I don't have to worry about someone deleting my comments because they offend someone. Also you mentioned how free speech doesn't protect me from normal social interaction but the example you gave is no where near normal it is quite absurd, "hello" does not normally offend people.
