I probably should have made this a private message, but, all things considered, it's possibly best and easier for me to do this in a public post.
I have gone over a few of the recent bans which were questioned by malicious and (seemingly) non-malicious parties alike, though not all of them.
What I have determined is that while some bans might be more appropriately changed to specific reasons, most bans, if not all, are perfectly warranted based on the behaviors from those users, which are endemic to and spread beyond v/GreatAwakening.
I am in agreement with some concepts such as ban reasons being explicit and easy to follow up on, but, even with the questionable reasoning given, I have come to realize that most bans you are handing out are easily justifiable even in cases where no (major/repetitive/direct/ etc) violations of v/GreatAwakening rules can be discerned.
While many of the users have not directly caused problems in v/GreatAwakening, their reaction to @Srayz (srayzie) and @Shizie (Shizy) deleting, combined with their actions outside of v/GreatAwakening, absolutely equates to harassment worthy of being banned based on the relevant subverse rules which existed at least 28 days prior to the most recent escalations; many, if not all, of the users banned, have demonstrated a seething hatred of Q, QAnons and srayzie/Shizy/yourself/Vindicator/etc; it begs the question, why are those people here or even seeking to be unbanned in the first place?
They don't care about making v/GreatAwakening a place for quality posting, they just want to capitalize on any vector of attack which can be perceived.
So all in all, while I do have recommendations as to some ban changes and only a few unbans, while I do wish to see v/GreatAwakening return to a state where banning is purely a last resort and otherwise properly explained/cited, I cannot rightly push for any revocation of current bans and do believe you have done v/GreatAwakening a massive service in the absence of srayzie as owner.
Whatever the two of you chose going forward, you have my support, though I may or may not criticize from time to time.
The v/GreatAwakening community seems to have no complaints about either of you, so, god speed, you meddling kids. Do your thing and be proud of the success of v/GreatAwakening.
@PeaceSeeker, I understand that you would prefer to not be pinged into this particular discussion, but, I wanted you to see this and to understand that at this stage, I am no longer working with Crensch in the background.
I continue to support him and have direct communications which fly in the face of your conclusions, but, I understand your concerns and I also understand Crensch's position and approach. There are points of agreement between myself and yourself, and also myself and Crensch.
The work between Crensch and I has been sidelined by myself, on account of two things:
- Srayzie and Shizy are back.
- I am more comfortable and effective in researching the bigger picture in this world, rather than using my energy to research and pull punches in this ongoing and increasingly wearisome Voat Civil War.
I trust Crensch, I trust srayzie & Shizy, I trust myself and Vindicator. I can't expect you to trust these same people as I know there are pieces you are unaware of. I firmly believe that everything will be okay though -- despite the efforts of the malicious party. Feel free to disagree with me, but, as it stands, you and I are at an impasse in terms of v/GreatAwakening and I still respect you.
To casual readers/observers of this post:
Be prepared to question everything, in the coming days/weeks. Just... be prepared, okay? Great. Cool. See you guys again soon.
Radio somewhat-silence begins again now.
PM if you have questions, do not expect a response though.
What you can expect, though, is a bunch of downvotes and asinine responses to this submission.
I now leave this in the capable hands of Crensch, srayzie, Shizy, MolochHunter, bopper and Vindicator.
