Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions argues if the push to use federal power to require voting by mail as an election offering is successful, it could threaten democracy in the United States.
During a telephone town hall with the Tuscaloosa County, AL Republican Party, Sessions, a candidate for U.S. Senate in Alabama, explained how changing the election process would be a deviation from American traditions.
βThat is a huge threat to democracy,β he said. βIt is unthinkable that Congress would agree to such a demand, and if they stand firm, the Democrats will have to back down, for sure. Only if they weakened, could that be successful. Look, historically Election Day was a day that in every hamlet, village, farm and city people went to a polling place on the same day and they cast ballots. Then people decided if you were sick or if you were out of town, you should be able to vote absentee ballot.β
βThe ideal of all of the nation gathering on a given day to decide the future of elected official is an important American value,β Sessions continued. βWhat the Democrats would do, ideally theyβre saying they want to close polling places and send out ballots by mail. So, if your brother Billy is not here, or your mother passed away, or somebody has dementia β these ballots can be sent to a home, and anybody can cast them and send them in. People can intercept ballots if they are voting for someone who is not legal.β
Sessions, who also served as a U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama during the Reagan administration, explained that he had once prosecuted election fraud cases involving absentee ballot and was aware of the risks of having voting take place outside of a precinct.
βAnother danger that I saw in Alabama β and I prosecuted voter fraud cases in Alabama,β Sessions explained. βOne of the things we saw was that people would come to your house and talk to you about the campaign, and the next thing you know, theyβre at the kitchen table, coercing the homeowner to give up the privacy of their ballot, and being told how to vote. A lot of people who arenβt strong-willed tend to get annealed to that kind of pressure. Theyβll pick up the ballot, and theyβll mail it. They have even done things and opened ballots, and scratched out the way it was marked, and vote for somebody else. A case like that, I prosecuted.β
He insisted that if he is elected to the U.S. Senate in November, he will fight against any move to make vote-by-mail a reality.
βThese are the kind of things that are a danger and is not good,β he added. βand weβve already got concerns about the integrity of our ballots. This would be going in the exact wrong direction. Now you can vote absentee, but you have to be sick or out of town β basically, the main reason to vote absentee. If Iβm in the Senate, theyβll pass this over my dead political body. Iβm telling you β this is a fight that cannot be lost, and must not be lost.β

Precisely. That Sessions would misuse this concept speaks volumes. He was worse than useless as AG.

"threat to democracy", "goes off on", "will consider", "might look into", "one day gonna check this out",
"murdering traitors were only just bumbling idiot politicians making poor life choices"....
Everyone here is letting the Clowns frame their wording.
"threat to democracy" is something an out of touch hollywood starlet would say.
A man of his position would know better and use Republic instead.
Dead fucking weight this guy

At this point he would have to explain the plan and specifically what he did to further it that we didn't see for me to consider him again.

Vote by mail fraud is the biggest threat we face.
The fake polls are so we're not shocked when they steal elections.

Mail in voting is being pushed in Wisconsin by editorial boards. Here is the Journal Times from Racine who posted this and then suppressed it from their home page.
journaltimes.com/opinion/editorial/journal-times-editorial-state-should-plan-now-for-a-possible-fall-election-by-mail/article_198a4294-cb97-5eb8-aa8f-7ab2083a0798.html
They held back testing and reporting of cases to ensure the election would go through while scaring voting groups into not voting. Robin Vos wore a full hazmat suit. No one else can get masks or hazmat suits.
Once the election passed they were quick to declare the election was not responsible for any rise in cases. A short week or two later the numbers are growing exponentially.
Everyone is being lied to on all sides. Did the outbreak begin in January or before? It lines up suspiciously with the billion dollar referendum and the suppression of related information here about Racine.

Mail and absentee ballots are the preferred method of democratic ballot stuffing. Go ahead and make election day a federal holiday, and force every one to vote in person. Just imagine what doing the finger dye would do to stop fraud.

You are absolutely right!! Think people!! Is our long fought for freedom worth fighting for??

I keep thinking Sessions is a real patriot who made one big mistake by talking Trump into making him AG and then immediately recusing himself to leave an empty chair.
I wish Trump would give him another chance and let him return to the Senate.

We (Alabama) will not vote him back in. On top of that... POTUS has shown support for Tubberville. π damn barner fags
