If Lisa Murkowski is solid with the caucus, then I would predict that the other GOP 'leaners', Romney, Collins and Alexander would be loath to vote with the House Managers and for one to become become the 49th vote in a losing Democrat effort.

In fact, its likely that all four (*) of the leaners will return to the fold, and likely that one (Manchin) or more (Jones, Sinema) could join the GOP in the votes.

  • Alexander is retiring. He will not be seeking elective office again, so he may 'vote his conscience' about the president he never really liked. On the other hand, he MAY want some appointed job, so, if the guy doing the appointments feels that he is not, at least, respected ...
