The embassy said the cartoon crossed the “ethical boundary of free speech” and demanded that the paper and cartoonist Niels Bo Bojesen “reproach themselves for their mistake and publicly apologise to the Chinese people”.
Pretty funny that a communist country renown for ignoring human rights would be lecturing someone about the boundaries of free speech.

Actually I don't see the big fuss. There is no agenda here, it is just on of the daily editorial cartoons pointing out that the big talk of the day is the Coronavirus and China.
However, in a tabloid debate section, many Danes are "outraged" and say it was not necessary for Jyllands-Posten to print that cartoon. Many people unfortunately do not understand that keeping free expression free, sometimes comes at a cost. It must be used, otherwise we don't have free expression rights.
