Yep, the rising water scare/chilling effect encourages long term generational owners to relinquish their claims that much easier. Whether their plantation-owning forebears nabbed primo island waterfront back in the pre-industrial days, or some working class shlub's grandfather lucked out on a pre-sprawl beach lot on the mainland.

Hell, ya gotta wonder how much Thai ocean-front was snapped up for cheap after that tsunami.
