July 23, 2015 - The Obama administration formally announced that inspectors general had to get permission from their agency heads to gain access to grand jury, wiretap and fair credit information — an action that severely limited the watchdogs’ oversight capabilities, independence and power to uncover fraud. This was far reaching and impeded the ability of the IGs across all the departments to gather information. It left the watchdog's on a short leash and shackled. Basically, if the department heads refused to give up documents and other evidence, the IG was dead in the water. That is why we have only recently seen some of the IG reports starting to surface. These investigations take time and the Obummer Administration hid much. To make it more difficult, those that were responsible for the shenanigans have left office and refuse to renew their security clearances in order to testify about internal government docs - think Comey. So, I would not be to hard on Calvaresi. This is why justice is only going to be able to come through the court system and Justice Department. (Or at least the part of it that has been cleaned up.) We will have to wait and see. That is all we can do.

Wow. Thank you. I had no idea Ovomit restricted the IG's. I thought they were supposed to be independent. He is such a piece of work!
