I had a complete and total victory today over the few Leftist relatives that haven't been red-pilled. These two may never cross over, but they most certainly will hesitate to bring up any PC or Leftist talking points at family gatherings anytime soon. They also have a newfound appreciation of the difference between an opinion and a fact.

("Trump loves Putin and Russia."

"No, that's your interpretation. The fact is that Trump's sanctions vs Russia are more restrictive than Obama's. Does that impact your interpretation?" etc.....).

Yes, I'm patting myself on the back. I was polite, unrelenting, and represented our worldview in a way ya'll would have been proud of.

Best part is the 15-year-old niece is now old enough to understand these conversations and I'm optimistic that her nodding at the right times means she's on the right path.

If anyone is still buying the "Trump is a Russian asset" line, they're just fucking retarded.

I had this conversation with some moron recently. It went like this.

"Ok, so let's say for argument's sake that Trump is a Russian asset. So that also means that Putin's grand conspiracy was to do what exactly? Give us the best economy in the history of our country? The lowest unemployment rate ever? Better trade deals? If Putin is responsible for these things, he's more of a friend to our country than all previous congressmen, senators, and presidents combined ever were. So if you really believe this is all due to Putin, then you really have no choice but to consider most politicians in this country to be traitors. And on that point, we can definitely agree."

There's not really any coming back from that :)

Your argument is effective. What I'm trying to do is more than win an argument. I'm trying to change the nature of our family's discourse and get rid of binary thinking. Just winning arguments doesn't provide me with peace. I've got to win the bloody holy war of ideas.

Make sense? If not, I'll try to elaborate in the AM.

(Edit to add: These are medical doctors I'm making look stupid, which sort of adds to the enjoyment. It's always fun to ridicule the pompous types.
