How much would it cost to hire people to do that work? A couple Billion each year? Instead Newsome allows blackouts, thousands of acres burned endangering the lives of his constituents and firefighters, destroying private property and infrastructure in order to receive Federal funding earmarked to remedy the problem and to rebuild; which he promptly redirects to backfill the deficits he has created with his Liberal agenda.

This is as insane as withholding $5B requested by POTUS to build the wall when we are spending $100B/year (rough estimate) on supporting people we didn't invite here, don't want here (unless they come through the front door) and they keep coming. Dems seldom fix anything, they prefer to "manage" it using your money and their benefactors.

edit - Just came across this -

Illegal aliens cost USA $229B last year, plus deaths, rapes, theft, diseases, etc.

I can't tell you how much it costs, but I know that utility companies in other states do clear under the towers, at least enough to keep the inspection roads open and trees off the lines.

I live in the northeast, forest everywhere, nor'easters, heavy snow, wind, occasional fire but usually small because we get plenty of rain. The utility companies keep the foliage trimmed back in the power corridors as well as along the roadside telephone poles. We seldom lose power except in a severe storm, some may lose it for a few hours to a few days. I'm very happy with their reliability.
