I live in one of the most liberal cities in the US. I see it first hand quite frequently. Friends/acquaintances who I've introduced to certain ideas/realities have texted/called/or just spoken to me in person on how "you called this" or "you called that". To admit that things have happened and are continuing to happen means that these people, which are liberals/moderates, have to suck up their pride and come to terms with it.

No, but along those lines. Either way, keep pushing. It's best to understand that people are brainwashed and the only way to get through to them is persistence, understanding, and having well formed arguments. Some people will never come around, but generally, the truth is inevitable.
