Am repeating what I posted a couple of days ago - which Tom Fitton espoused the same advice - that Mitch McConnell should refuse to recognize any impeachment consensus from the House (there is nothing in the Constitution that compels the Senate to grant a trial to a House vote for impeachment).
The WH letter issued to the House leadership sets matters out pretty plainly (their proceedings are unconstitutional and illegitimate) - and there is much, much more that can be added as to the chicanery and clear conspiracy of coup d'état between the House Dems and seditious traitors in the CIA (is there any other kind of CIA?).
The Republican-lead Senate should just make it public that under no circumstances will the current Senate go to trial with any impeachment vote from the current House. The elections of 2020 will instead allow the people of the United States to determine the government they will have vis a vis the many reveals of massive corruption that have transpired.
Let them rage - give them a big middle finger. This is war.

Arrests should be on the table for those who violate their oath to defend the constitution and uphold the law. Broad spectrum investigations should commence of every member of congress and staffer for the last 10 years. Including adult children who show to be involved in quid pro qro and spouses.
And I mean an anal examine!

Tell the house to go to the courts. That will get things going

Mitch McConnell will not do that, because to do that would be unlawful under the rules of the House and Senate. Like it or not, there are rules and laws that need to be followed. The vote on impeachment has to be made, then it's submitted to the Senate where the Senate can and will then refuse it. Of course the Senate does not have to grant a trial to the House. I think you're misunderstanding what Fitton said.

yeah, that's what the OP says
the Senate does not have to grant a trial to the House

Make up your minds. Didnt the good guys WANT the house to go with an impeachment vote??
[–] Christosgnosis [S] ago
people speculate a lot about that, if that is what you're referring to.
am just pointing out that the House is very clearly completely corrupt in illegitimate in its current processes regarding impeachment. The Senate (under McConnell) can step up and just blanket all impeachment affirmations that the House might eventually send to the Senate - blanket refuse to consider anything from this current House congress - let the People decide these matters in the 2020 election, as they should.
as to evidence, well, wouldn't that evidence be better used in prosecutions to aide in getting convictions - instead of being presented in an impeachment trial to defend the presidency?
