On July 1st the tariff goes to 10%. On August 1st to 15% On Sept. 1st to 20% and on Oct. 1st to 25%. Trump is brilliant. He cannot lose. Either Mexico stops the illegal immigration or they lose all the jobs as the companies move back to the USA and bring the jobs back where they were before.

If he actually follows through with it.

The first 5% go in effect June 10th. Given his 25% tariffs on China, I would think likely.

Yeah...because he has no track record of following through with tariffs... /s

Why now? After 2 full years of flooding this country with 20 Million Migrants who will ALL VOTE Demoncrap in 2020 to destroy this country????

I hate to say it, but to me, sounds like VERY Little....and WAY too late.

What about all the Illegal Aliens/Migrants here already, with the DHS's blessing.....and chauffeuring them around in limos or planes to the destinations of their choice???

Why didn't Trump do this on Day 1 of these migrant caravans streaming into this country???

Why so late?

And so small a punishment to Mexico who is OBVIOUSLY helping to send these caravans to the USA?

Patriots, THINK!!!!

Trump is OUR President. That means he is accountable to US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If YOU are satisfied with this meager, minimal slap on the wrist for Mexico, fine. But I am not!

I am a true Patriot, and Trump supporter, but ALL POLITICIANS NEED TO HEAR FROM THEIR CONSTITUENTS WHEN THEY ARE VEERING OFF-COURSE!

20 Million ILLEGAL Immigrants into this country ALREADY, who will ALL VOTE for Demoncraps in 2020, is totally unacceptable to me!

Romney lost the Presidential Election in 2012 by 2.5 Million.

THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can ANYONE on THIS Board DO THE MATH???????????????????????????????????

Must Read: Communism Expert on What's REALLY Behind the Push for Open Borders!

https://voat.co/v/GreatAwakening/3251031#submissionTop

Trump knows this is a superficial slap on the wrist.

Trump is HOPING to hear from his Constituents, that THIS IS NOT ENOUGH!!!!!

HE is EXPECTING it, our OUTRAGE so that he has support to DO what is really necessary, as in SHUTTING DOWN OUR BORDERS.

SILENCE IS NOT GOLDEN at this time!

TRUMP Needs to HEAR from YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is Your Right, and he EXPECTS to Hear from you, if you are dissatisfied!

Tell him this is NOT enough!!!!

SILENCE IS NOT GOLDEN at this time!

Does the Mexican government even have enough control over its own army - what with Cabal infiltration - to execute this?

[–] Paladin_Diver 0 points 20 points (+20|-0) ago

I'm not sure about the control over the army, but I'm laughing that Mexico is going to be paying for the Wall now anyways.

By 25%, millions of freshly laid off workers are going to be a huge problem for the Government of Mexico to deal with.

Good question. Comes down to $$$. Turns out we know where the $$$ are and how it's moved...and we can now attach every penny if necessary. I won't be surprised if Trump uses cartel $$$ to pay the Mexican military to go after their asses.

[–] CrustyBeaver52 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Probably not, but they just received a powerful incentive to change that.

Consider this as Trump transferring part of the cost of dealing with this problem back onto the Mexicans. Well played on Trump's part.

The house will be screaming tomorrow.

He needs to put a stop to the wiring of money from the US to all Central and South American countries until the illegals are stopped!

[–] Podingo7 0 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago

Exactly, its one thing to come here illegally, another to take jobs and lower wages for citizens, and entirely a different story to use Federal subsidies so they can send illegal cash across border to finance more illegals coming...

I think he will escalate steadily. A tariff is a huge step.. coming off the heels of China, this threat will be taken seriously.

That's not actually how tariffs work.

I'm the rare Libertarian who is fine with using tariffs to influence the behavior of other countries. It's a better solution than guns, at least as a preliminary step.

That said, I'm concerned how this will affect the USMCA.

I look at tariffs/sales taxes vs income taxes from the perspective of voluntarism. You can choose to pay the tariffs or sales tax. An income tax is, by definition, theft.

And the government spending is absolutely something to object to. Forcing Congress to only spend what they've taken in would eliminate a ton of gov't corruption.

It’s already being. Affected. The deal the US made with Mexico benefits both countries. But Mexico can’t turn around and F us over by letting an influx of illegal immigrants to mess with our systems.

[–] Paladin_Diver 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Agreed, but I was under the impression that USMCA hadn't been ratified yet. My concern was whether this would affect that process. Make sense?

Good for POTUS! Mexico has to claim some responsibility. The Central American invasion has to go through Mexico’s southern border. Let them bleed money. As the saying goes, money talks, bullshit talks.
