There have been the inevitable Watergate comparisons, as well as the Nixon/Trump comparisons--but under Trump we have had significant change, real change--not just the typical political talk and cover-up. Watergate made our country jaded--it primed us for this politically correct leftist globalist nightmare that we have been enduring, barely, since the mid 1980s. But the thing is, Watergate was a cover-up and failed to explore the corruption. I have long questioned the necessity of both the FBI and the CIA because both agencies have had such enduring and longstanding corruption. This is our first real chance for change and reform. Of course all of Congress and the intelligence agencies will continue to tow the line. Perhaps this is why they have failed to see what seems so obvious to us. They are swamp creatures, well used to the mud and muck that is their habitat. But now they must face the resilience of the American people, and the will of a President and an AG who are not concerned about either their status or their careers. These are men of deep seated convictions with strong moral compasses who want their country back as much as we do. And the swamp is ill prepared to deal with such alien creatures. The media will continue to roar right up until it is on the complete brink of becoming obsolete and then it will cave.
