Since the patent hadn't been issued, the fifth and sole surviving patent holder listed inherits the patent. Who was the fifth person on the patent? Jacob Rothschild.
That story doesn't match the actual patent application. Rothschild is not on the patent and the patent is not assigned to these men, but to their company. They presumably invented this process while employees of the company and using company equipment and thus their company owns the patent.
