My brother lives in Oregon where they have mail-in ballots and he noticed that the computer barcode was exactly the same on both the ballot and the outside of the mail-in envelope. He said the numbers corresponded to database fields, in other words, name, party affiliation... All that has to be done is to look at the outside of the envelope and check the code in the party affiliation field. Bingo - into the trash bin.

Or, in CA, they just decide the signatures don't match for people who vote R even if they're not registered R.
