Look, from out of the past: Tom Foley (D) House Speaker who said: "The seriousness of the charge mandates that we investigate this." "Even though there is no evidence," he said, "the seriousness of the charge is what matters."

Thus we find Judge K... caught in the "seriousness of the charge, even though there is no evidence". Problem is that no matter what is accomplished at any hearing, the "seriousness of the charge" gives any Senator who want to vote against Judge K cover to so vote "their conscience" (if they have one). I don't believe Judge K's appointment is a done deal yet. Too much potential blackmail and now cover to vote against.

One wonders if the "Q Team" has provided any reassurance to blackmail threaten Senators.
