Shop finshed with the truck and the noise was still there. Took it back and it turned out the fender was loose and wiggling around making a pretty terrible noise. They tightened it down and it fixed it. So much better now!

Little shocked my DR-650 fits going straight in with the tailgate up, but it does ("short" bed, 6'6"). You really have to push it closed and it only works with the forks about bottomed out to shorten the bike.

I think I've got about 700-800lbs in the bed and the truck is sagging slightly but looks pretty comfortable with it. Will be interesting to see how she does on the passes.

I'm thinking about taking a route from Roswell, New Mexico to Pescos, Texas. It's a road I've never seen before with property that could be pretty interesting. Will be a little slower. It's a bit closer to Loving as well.

Lots on my mind these days. Haven't been able to fall asleep as easily as I'd like. I am really excited. Didn't realize @PuttItOut is moving to the new code port this weekend, too! I guess GGVH and Voat: Less Microsofty Edition will be going live right about the same time.

Awesome! Are you putting the trailer on, too? Or did I misunderstand and you already dropped it?

I actually bought the RV trailer in San Antonio, Texas right aound the time I bought the property. I dropped it off with my friend's truck, I guess back in December of last year.

Thought about buying a 6x10 enclosed storage trailer but financially it won't work out and I'm not confident my truck has the power to pull it at a safe speed over the passes.

I'd be more worried about your bumper mounted hitch if your trailer were overloaded. You're just as well to build an enclosure, imho, rather than tow it there.

Take care, watch the crazies on the road and make sure to enjoy the scenery. Good luck mate!

Thank you! Would've enjoyed the scenery more if it wasn't pouring most of the time. Just made it into Roswell, 570 mile drive. Truck is doing well although getting worse economy than I was expecting.

Haha, I guess we have been up to a bit. Actually had the property for about a year but was really conflicted if it was the right place to start something of the sort.

I'm working remotely and have a small startup as well. Are you going to make it out to the meetup this October?
