Baby steps. I like it.
First a town, then a state, then a country.

Long ways out. I wonder if any of us will end up as a governor one day. Even in that role, I'm not sure how much of an ancapistan you could build.

Long term we could all move to Asgardia, if it manages to make itself a reality.

Thank you, Cooper. I should have not forgotten to mention him. I'm hoping that once this is "live", we can link back to @Goater's New Zealand movement, Fort Galt, and any others of a similar nature. There should not be just one Goat's Gulch or similar.

Really great to hear that you're gaining focus and traction for your project, look forward to tracking the development.

To clarify do you want the sub purpose to be for all communities of this nature or just your current planned one?

Personally I think one sub would be best to start with, and then split into sub-communities when a critical mass of quality users have found the main community through posting quality content, just a suggestion to help us get the seed planted in as many heads as possible.

Some may like Texas, some Wyoming, some South America, some NZ.

Thanks to both you and @TeranNotTerran for starting NewCountryProject and your comments there, without it I wouldn't have been inspired to truly focus my own plans.

A mesh of goat communities would be the strongest, and in the current climate, would have many benefits.

A strong and diverse bartering market, movement of needed skills within communities easily, relaying tips and tricks, templates and guides to local/state/federal regulations, as well as creating a larger voting bloc through physical expansion leading to quite a large influx of non-Voat users, although this would need to be managed i.e. vetted pretty heavily. One bad apple and all that.

As examples, Goats can vouch for current goats within their communities to work short term in other communites. Goods and services can be traded at cost, so minimal taxation for either party, with actual payments being made in home countries/states.

Many of the goods and services that we currently have control over can be traded without middle men, across the globe, cutting out ~30% of the item cost. Not only that but food processing equipment, etc domestically between communities.

Many ideas come to mind. Excellent work guys.

Hi Goater,

I am happy to be a part of your inspiration for you to make such plans in New Zealand. It's fantastic to see an idea come to fruition. I enjoy discussing but my main goal is to truly start something.

My own vision is to keep this subverse dedicated to one particular village. I may be mistaken with my reasoning or the reality of my reasoning, but I feel that generic subverses can get very sidetracked and not focus on one particular mission. I would imagine having a /v/goatsgulch, a /v/goatsgulchnz (or anything else, just an example), and other groups. I feel that we can leverage the traction from /v/newcountryproject as a generic hub for this concept and link back, hopefully pulling members from local areas.

This is also why I want to narrow the focus of Goat's Gulch to something foreseeable and certain. Narrowing it down to a few regions that we can make a very good decision from. Likely not perfect location, but I think the search space is too far to be certain of an ideal choice. And I suspect the location and model will work for some but not others -- hopefully spurring and inspiring others to start their own villages or the like.

I agree on your comment about middle men. There are so many economic concepts that can be improved upon. So many elements of community that can be improved. Ultimately, I feel life is about community and I wish to be a part of the best community I can find.

I have this. I just need people. Posted another thread that nobody is paying attention to. I got two cabins on 140 acres. Shit loads of trees, rocks and dirt, a tractor and a few attachments. I just need hands to manage this.

I am going up to my property in August to attend trade school and would like to have a few dedicated goats to help out and better themselves. Anyone interested?

So you are setting up a commune? (((a kibbutz??!))) how is this different from those?

I think it may end up having a few communal elements, but ultimately I think not. Like minded people moving to a similar area, ideally each owning their own property. Doing business with one another, being free and responsible.

Ground rules of the community?
