There are differing opinions on this. Some say there is no protection in an open forum like that. Some say there is "born protection" for each individual. However, Butts is presumably claiming that she owns the logs outright. But I'm betting that she never made the proper legal notices to the participants at the time they went on those boards. So she almost certainly doesn't own their words in any real legal sense. If someone with the means wanted to do so, they could drag her into federal court, expose the fact that she doesn't own the logs and then "demonstrate" her illicit financial business practices to every single third party (through subpoena) who has an actual copyright claim against her. If I were her, I would not be playing this game. If I were her, I would withdraw every single DMCA claim and walk away now.

I bet the ToS of those boards make it the property of those boards.

I'm betting not. I'm betting at the time Butts didn't think that far ahead. They almost never do. He/she might try to retroactively insert terms, but it won't fly in a court. These things are easily provable and if falsified evidence is submitted in support of a case...opposing counsel could ask for sanctions.

"It"?

I get you may want to de-humanise butts or you may not acknowledge transsexual people exist or that they could ever change gender, but surely that would mean you stick to "he", like I see some doing. "It" just makes you look childish.
