Apparently some editors figured out that they could make money using their privileges/influence on Wikipedia to blackmail companies and individuals. These unfortunate victims assumed that the editors could get their pages published or positively edited on Wikipedia. So the victims paid out. Sound familiar? At Wikipedia, it's a crime, but in games journalism...it's just business.

Just more evidence to me Wikipedia is rotten thanks to cronyism and influence peddling that has made it a haven for SJWs and con artists looking to shill their favored subjects.

At least Wikipedia's position on the internet is significantly and recognizably diminishing. And those people involved in this scam are being arrested.
