arge enamel coated roasting pan for $4 and they normally charge $6 for this size. I had to put it straight into the dish washer because of the layer of grim on it. Then I hit it with a green Scotch-Brite scouring pad and another round in the dishwasher it was great.

Sometimes it's just better to spend the extra cash to get it new. You probably spend more on water, electricity, time, and effort than if you had went ahead and bought it new. That $2 savings was ate up really fast.

Additionally, I'm very wary of buying certain cookware items second hand. I knew some potheads that would scrap their resin into various pots and pans to cook it up. They stopped doing it once they used a teflon coated pan though. But still, you gotta be careful.

Yeah I wouldn't buy anything lined with Teflon and yes the pots & pans do have to be inspected.

You do make a decent point, I know wouldn't buy anything with a mystery substance in it. That roasting pan was an outliner but I could tell it was just grease and other shit from not being properly washed.

Also, that pan normally costs around $30 dollars new. It cost me maybe an extra $0.50 for that one extra time in the dishwasher.

Fair enough. Each person has their own rules about what they'll only buy new. Things like most computers, shoes, some cookware, etc. are on my list.

Er you paid $4 for a $6 dish you had to soak and scrub clean? You lost money on that.

Try again, I saved $2 on top of $24 because I bought second hand.

Edit: I just looked up the price of the pan new, they've gone up.

I'm sorry it's late, but "before or after" which part?

If something is unclear I'd like to know so I can edit my post.
