Please add to the list!
1. Affordable Phone Service!
If you need cell phone service, Republic Wireless is amazing and uses voip, T-Mobile and roams on AT&T.
Service starts at $15/mo + $5 per GB of data.
There is a 50% educators discount on top of that if you are an educator or support staff.
If you need a house phone use google voice and an OBI200 adapter, no monthly fee.
2. Affordable Quality Prescription Glasses!
Zennioptical is the Shiznit!
I got 3 pairs of nice tinted glasses for $36 shipped, yes seriously.
Don't forget to get your PD number from your optometrist, you will need it to order.
3. Affordable Prescriptions
Use GoodRx if purchasing a prescription locally, it will usually save 50% or more.
If you take a certain medication long term, you can usually get it much cheaper via HealthWarehouse.
They are less than half what it costs to obtain locally for my prescription.
My advice is to mail your prescription to them via usps with a tracking number instead of having a doctor fax it.
Paypal offers a 1% cashback debit card that pulls funds from your local checking account.
I really like the new 5% card from Amazon, as long as it's paid off each month, its awesome.
Credit unions offer much better rates and usually lend more than banks, There is no reason to use a bank over a credit union.
5. Coupon Codes.
Before ordering online check http://www.retailmenot.com/ for a coupon code.
6. Use Rechargeable Batteries.
Panasonic Eneloop Batteries have 2100+ useful charge cycles, and are low self discharge. This means you can use them in low draw devices like clocks and remotes over long periods of time and they won't go dead like normal nimh batteries. If you need C or D sized nimh Tenergy Centura batteries are great and also low self discharge.

7. LED Lights.
Walmart Great Value brand 60W LED lights work well and cost $2.00 each. If one does go bad the service desk will exchange.
8. Affordable TV!
A cheap Indoor 50 mile HDTV antenna gets us quite a few good local stations, and you can't beat the price!
Amazon Basics make some great HDTV antenna's I recommend getting the highest range available.
(I had to remove the link to amazon because voat has banned their domain)
Internet TV via Roku!
Hulu+, Netflix, Amazon, etc. are much cheaper than cable!
More stuff than you can watch, an lots of good free content as well as streaming local media from your PC.
$129 for a Roku Ultra is absolutely worth it.
If you download movies, music, games, etc, I highly recommend you CYA and use a vpn.
While a lawsuit is unlikely, it is possible.
Why risk it?
NordVPN offers many exit nodes NON-US countries, no logs, is fast, and costs $2.75 per month, if you pay for 3 years.
9. Save On Shaving.
Dollar general brand single blade razors, the yellow ones that are clones of the Bic sensitive single blade razors work just fine, you do not need a 128 blade vibrating razor.
Suave conditioner works much better and is cheaper than shaving cream.
10. Low Flow Shower Heads.
Install a low flow shower head to save on your electric or gas bill.
Your water heater uses more electricity or gas than most other appliances.
I have a Bricor Ultramax 0.625 GPM shower head and save about $10/mo in electricity.
A 1.25 GPM will give a better experience however, and pay for itself quicker (2 months).
I recommend a Niagra 1.25GPM shower head for $8.00
(amazon link removed because voat has blacklisted them)
11. Research Car Reliability.
A Camry or Corolla are probably your best bet for a reliable car, still it is advisable to purchase a year with lower issues.
If you want something other than a Camry or Corolla I recommend picking something from this list:
