I'll preface by saying that I have no objection to any woman pursuing v whatever career, field of study, or life paths she is interested in. I don't believe men and women are equal because it's obvious to me that biology and hormones play a large role in defining an individual, so I don't think it's up to society to say what should or should not interest a person and what gives them meaning.
I was sad today after visiting with family and having a chance to chat with my, now much older, nieces. One is 19 and just finished first semester of College and the other just finished 8th grade. Basically the older sister is now just a parrot of typical college feminist rhetoric. I don't get the impression there is any thoughts of her own swimming around in there as the arguments are just circular and self defeating and she gets "frustrated by the patriarchy" and accuses me of being privileged and biased.
She brought up the salary difference and I quickly pulled up stats on women who choose to go into STEM fields and she quickly snapped back that it's because those women were raised on Barbie and not Legos. Her sister quickly jumps in and says her schools robotics club doesn't have one girl in it. So I told her to pursue it. She said she hates boy things and doesn't want to be the only girl in the club. I look back at the older one and she also says she has no interest in robotics or STEM and wants to be an archeologist.... Face palm!!!
But apparently I don't understand the struggle... The struggle!!!
This self victimization is beyond narcissistic at this point. I'm not concerned kids today are wasting g their time learning useless rhetoric. I'm worried this kind of crap inhibits their abilities, both boys and girls, to think and reason logically.
Can we get more successful women to talk about how life got better for them not when they shoved the men around them down. But rather it got better when they stopped acting like a victim and simply pursued high paying careers or STEM regardless of what a few ignorant people thought about them. Most men today would embrace a woman in their field....
... We only feel threatened by you when we see you come in and start dictating for sexist policies which week to make it easier for you and harder for us... That's it and it's not a step to equality to do that stuff anyway. In many cases women come in saying sex shouldn't matter, we should all be treated the same.... Oh but in robotics club the girls should play with the newer equipment because the father's of the boys represent the patriarchy and so their children, to young to have any benefit from the patriarchy, should suffer and play with the mostly broken equipment. Also we will let all 3 of the girls who applied in but only the smartest 5 boys for the 8 slots we have...
The doublethink and doublespeak is just worrying as all hell.
