I fail to see how this hurts the Tesla owner. They bought the Tesla precisely to experience autonomous transportation and now they've got 18 months to experience it fully. Granted it was stupid to take the risk, but if a curry eater's doing this, then there are lots more already going at it.

This is why you can't release a partially complete driving AI to the public. Because, the public is full of loons and morons. On that very same note, it's also why we're supposed to have driving licenses in the first place. So, this is also a failure of the licensing bureau to keep morons off the road.
