I don't know how to treat these people, but I know that ignoring a problem by calling it normal is not a solution.
The first steps are probably to admit that it's an illness and to get talk therapy.
Ask the experts what comes after that.
Do they not already receive therapy? I am apparently grossly misinformed because I could've sworn that, last I checked, it's a requirement in many countries. I am also not certain who is saying "this is normal", but I do know people are saying it is normal for them and that should be respected. Which is not wrong. I don't tell you what to do, after all.
You see, my issue with the politicization of this is that neither "side" is going to investigate the matter. If in fact it were possible to prescribe a medication to alter the perception of gender when it is at odds with your physical sex, I imagine there wouldn't be such an issue of suicide. The problem is, nobody is investigating this as a possibility, and "your side" absolutely would not either. In fact, Voat seems inundated with people fully willing to advocate we pray the gay away as well.
The added problem is, those experts you suggest we ask are already deciding. They aren't siding with you on the matter, either. So it is obvious you do not, in fact, want those experts to decide. Who, then, is really to decide?
You seem to be passionate and knowledgeable about the topic, but you also seem frustrated. (Got the impression because you've been using passive aggressive speech and you just attacked a strawman)
It doesn't help communication when you get bitter from one group of people and carry it over to the next.
If you find conversations with individuals in the comments frustrating, maybe making videos would be better suited for you.
