Can you include something like this, with a user-configurable number of comments to preview (the default is 3)?

Probably, but it'd possibly dissuade people from going in & participating in discussions, or seeing the more controversial comments. I'll put it on my list and see what I can do, though!

It's drawn me into more conversations on Reddit that I otherwise wouldn't have bothered opening, by having a quick preview. From there, I read entire threads.

How does VES differ from /v/Vee? Have you guys talked to each other, any plans to collaborate or you decided to maintain separate extensions?

To be honest, I actually have Vee installed for its user tagging xD

Vee has a bunch of features that I'd love to put into VES, but Celeodor hasn't updated Vee in about a month (I'm hoping he's still developing it, though). VES is module-based and will be a little bit more structured, so once I get my code together it'll be easier to maintain (I hope!), and it'll be easier to add community contributions.

Alright. Competition and code diversity is good, but as a user I’d hate to have to choose between two extensions if they overlapped and were incompatible.

I like that it’ll be module-based. Will be keeping my eye out for 0.1.0 then.
