Agreed.

The greed or contracts are too great I suppose, but season 8 with Capaldi? I think Capaldi would be awesome as the Doctor and Missy would be a great Master. Clara would be better, but I think the crap romance stuff got in the way...

Doctor Who was well known for hokey story lines, and the actors being awesome enough to pull it off, but Moffat seems to not give a shit anymore. I have been a whovian since I was 3...but I gotta say, Moffat might ruin it for me if he keeps pulling the stuff like "Death in Heaven" & "Dark Water", and that fucking Christmas episode....

Apologies for the swearing. This has been a sore topic since the beginning of season 8. Moffat was obviously getting tired since the last season with Matt Smith, but they were still ok.

I feel upset about how the show seems to be more fantasy than science fiction.
Sure the show has always had a bit of fantasy in it, but it always felt grounded. There used to be rules the universe existed by. Things that the science in the show could and couldn't do. Now it's like every episode is a fantasy, completely forgetting all the rules. It only follows the rules when they're convenient to the story.

If by fantasy, you're talking about the run of Capaldi episodes, I would offer a counterpoint. To me, this Doctor is the culmination of all of the Time Lord rule breaking done by the prior incarnations. When I watch these episodes, it seems to me that this Doctor is having difficulty holding onto sanity. (The episode where the Doctor and Clara went looking for the monsters under the bed. The whole premise screams at me of someone desperately clinging to sanity while needing to prove that his childhood fear of the dark was from a real danger.) The episode with Robin Hood, the dream slugs/Santa Claus.....sorry, I ramble, maybe these weren't real Doctor Who episodes, maybe I just thought I was watching the tube, maybe I was just having a flashback from that time in '75 when I was given that blunt that was laced with something,,,,, what was I talking about? Yeah, I think you're right, these later episodes are just too out there....

Moffat is a better write for Doctor Who when he's not the showrunner.

Did you seriously make a bunch of alternate accounts just to bash Steven Moffat?

Human companions are really dumb and earth is boring he could have any life form or machine accompany him in the tardis and the could go anywhere/when in the universe I can't understand why he spends so much time in present day London with humans

I have been a fan of the show since I was 7 (I am 27 now) and I stop watching the moment "Missy" was revealed to be the Master instead of The Rani or Romana. They just pulled the "gender" regeneration out of their ass and completely ignored the canon habit of The Master body hoping when he has run out of regenerations. I may forgive the writers and come back as Capaldi is the first of the new ones to actually seem like I am watching the Doctor in action again, but I hate all this retconning. Let's see what they do with the "Valeyard" issue.
