That's what I love about this game though; you may burn through the official achievements, but there are so many possible challenges you can do yourself. Like the SL1, or no-shields, or shields-only, or wolverine, or...

What's funny though is the one thing I've never done in this game is an "as-it-was-intended" run. I got into Dark Souls by watching Let's Plays and speed runs, so I started off with the master key and the shortcuts. I've never done it the old fashioned way. Which is why I'm so excited for Dks3. No wikis/youtubers to spoil it.

My roommate does the same thing; he spoils all the stuff for himself, which to me is most of the experience in playing the game. I could never do it. Hell, when Bloodborne came out I completely shut myself out of most of the Souls subreddits and stayed off Twitch and Youtube. Had to wait maybe 5 months to see / hear anything at all about the game. Literally had no idea what the game was about, what the town was called, anything about the game. I knew nothing, and I liked it that way.

But yeah, experiencing it all anew is the way to go. Play the game maybe two or three times without guides, then start looking up on the tiny bits you may have missed. It's truly the only way to play, for me

Edit: The achievements definitely kept me going for a while, especially in DaS2. Grinding the bell tower took quite some time T_T
