Thank you for putting this together. Building a 1911 is on my to do list.

I agree. I'm commenting in this thread just so I can find it easier when I'm ready to start buying components.

Thanks for the tip on a safety for my FXH that's not a rip off, we'll see about it being a chosen people's product though.

I left out grips - too much variety and subjectivity. Maybe I will add a couple of the G10 sources later.

why the fuck does this only have 1 upgoat?

EDIT: i think my browser is being fucky. in /v/diyguns/new it's at 15 upgoats, but even when i reload this page, it's showing only 1 upgoat.

BACK TO REGULARLY SCHEDULED POST: i find shit like this to be pretty valuable, and i would like to personally thank you for your contribution.

you wouldn't have anything like this for a glock would you? i'm looking into doing a polymer80c and i'm a poorfag.

Thanks man. Yeah the count shows 1 for me as well when on the post. Sorry, can't offer much help on the Glock front, though I have seen slides on gun.deals front page, and barrels at remsport and stone mountain.

I have no other parts for the weapon.... but i had to start somewhere and it seemed like a great deal. :)

Stay away from 80% reseller "the buffalo". The guy that runs it is a relentless FB spammer.

Sounds like it about 500 for a glock and 600 for a 1911 in parts. Building your own really doesn't produce the same value as building an AR.

Also like building vs buying a PC. But here I think the journey is as satisfying as the destination. If you just want a steel pistol cheap and without headaches, getting a complete ATI, Metro Arms or RIA is a better route. I have one, and I love it. ETA: for a little more, the Springfield milspec is a better option.
