Does one bible attempt to derail teachings more than another? No. There is a bible for children, a bible for those new to christ, a bible for scholars and int he end they all teach the same thing. When in doubt, there are resources on the internet that will list ALL translations of a bible verse.

Claiming that any book that is faithful to God, is heresy and should be purged, is exactly what Islam teaches. At the most, you should keep it as an example of how it is heresy. In the same way I keep a quran.

This is patently false. There are many versions that try to mask the intent of God's word and the purpose thereof. Many churches, for instance, have allowed the practice of homosexuality to find acceptance among their flocks. They often use alternative Bibles to try and sneak around the issue. Here are several readings of 1 Corinthians 6:9.

Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? This one's even less specific. This isn't what was originally said. This isn't what was meant to be here. This is twisting the word of God to imply it isn't saying what it well and clearly is. John 7:8. Most modern bibles have Jesus telling a lie by the simple deletion of a word. This satanic alteration is based on only a few very faulty manuscripts out of tens of thousands. There are many more lies inserted, and truths deleted based on the same altered agnostic texts. There are tens of thousands of changes in total, and they have nothing to do with the word "translation".

God promised in multiple places, and at multiple times that his words would be perfectly preserved. Anyone who says that god did not keep his promise to perfectly preserve his words is a liar. Any "translation" in which the authors did not believe that god faithfully kept his word should not be used for anything but a poor reference.
