I do that. Its incredibly simple. I like the filet crochet too because with graph paper you can draw up any pattern you want. About the only thread available in stores locally is that 3 cord size 10, which is stiff and shreds a little too easily. A good thread in a 20 or less is smooth as butter and it makes a nicer product that drapes with a bit of elegance.

Lovely! Yeah, threads in the 20 range are great. I want to make a whole bunch of leaves and flowers in that size to piece together for a garment.

I've never done filet crochet. I would love if you posted pics of your work sometime. :)

I made a bunch of cushion sized squaresin the filet. Then i put them awayin a box because one day??? I intend on turning them into those cushions. Ha!

Irish crochet for those flowers and stuff is awesome.
