Racism requires hatred, which is pretty "wrong"

Stereotypes, on the other hand, are useful when making decisions. When I say that blacks are the most violent race, it is statistically true when you look at US violent crime stats. Doesn't mean I hate them though.

Racism doesn't require hate, it's essentially a personal value scale based on particular genetic features. That scale may reach as low as genuine hate, but it's not a requirement.

Then you would happen to not like violent black people because of their racial disposition to crime, just like you wouldn't like a violent white guy. If you didn't like a normal black guy for no reason though, then you would be racist towards them.
