I think there are actually a lot more people that are aware and privately question things but socially close up just to fit in. And there are the others that are counciously or non ignorant.

I like your positivity in thinking that there are more people who are aware than is obvious, though I would suggest we have a problem of ignorance in that the inherent problem with ignorant people is that they just don't realise they are ignorant. (But then again if that is an accurate analysis I guess that means maybe I am an ignoramus too?)

Ignorance is constantly viewed as a bad thing but I believe it plays an important role in society. I mean if we all had the intelligence and power, would we use it for the greater good? From what I've observed (influenced by my environment), we are a social but selfish species. And then there's the possibility of some not being able to handle the truth, who knows what it would do to there mental health.

In order to maintain order, the mass needs to be led by the few. The problem comes when the goals of the few aren't as honorable as one would wish.
