I believe for all intents and purposes, we do have free will. At the most miniscule level, yes, neuron, molecule and particle interactions follow certain laws that are predictable but until we figure out how to predict human behavior, we are all free agents.

The only people with "free will" are those who lack a conscience.

If we are causal creatures because we come from a causal universe,
and decisions can cause us to suffer, or our life to end,
then we are able to defeat the causal nature by choosing against the cause and effect cycle.

Or, is it just our lack of knowledge and understanding?

if we don't have all the information, we can chose the correct cause to perpetuate our own life?

The first instance "proves" free will. The second instance "disproves" free will.

So the question really is, how do we define free will? It's not about whether free will intrinsically exists or not, it's about how we understand free will.

Free will is just a concept to guide us in our understanding of everything. Since it is a tool, it must exist, whether as a fabricated concept of a developing mind, or intrinsically.

Gosh. Patience be with us all. To acknowledge the truth is to admit dishonour in our excuses for survival. Thank goodness there is no one to blame.

There is no beginning. We are tips of the infinite past. Literal angels, each of us. Crazy crazy angels blaming hating and multiplying like rabbits in a small box.

Ahem. Its divining. We divine. And everyone who acts as if humans are exempt from fate are believing in impossible magic because an entire culture was brainwashed by a monster that thought it could get away with mass tactical demoralizing pedophilia and murder in the name of colonizing, then it would invent democracy so everyone could say how that was then and everything is different now. I digress. Pride is the goofiest bullshit nonsense in the entire universe... However evil someone wants to be perceived as they are only a child gone mad.

Just patience. Belief in free-will is not a glib delusion, it is implicitly and directly responsible for all the horror in the world. Psychotic. We are all abused children.

PS: starving to death gracefully in jail is so much less embarrassing than raging.

i think people have been approaching the topic in the wrong manner. I think their are 'wills' that are outside of space and time that's independent of humans. I think that humans are able to choose these 'wills'. 'Wills' are a step in a direction that's unknown to the simple man. To answer the question, "Do humans have free will," I say, that humans are free to chose a will.
