Our home went the offgrid, now with with plenty current to share option ten years ago, to help buffer the flaky currency token business obsessed with screwing up as external harm prevention more than any thing else. If that helps with reducing accumulative toxicity in any way then groovy but it isn't why I'm building more of the same.

I live rural so for reliability alone, harvesting our own current was a no brainer. The long term unanticipated outcomes though are the fun part I like most. The fun things you can do with too much power has been surprisingly liberating.

Yes there are jobs emerging where there were none. Local youngins offer solar cleaning services and some local techs are servicing wind, solar and storage setups as they emerge. Is nothing the currency token business is interested in but we locals are feeling more stable. That we talk with each other a lot more about the planning and the doing down to power sharing is a plus in itself.

For those living in way makes it not possible to participate in the rebuild it all from ground up movement, don't worry. The we™ I know like to share the excess. What has this last ten year adventure shown me? Have power, can do anything applies.

As I hint to, reduction in toxicity is the least interesting of outcomes possible. This I know to be true.
