We watch when we stay at hotels. I can't believe how horrible it all is. When you have been removed from it for almost 20 years, and then sneak a peek st it - you can really see a difference. It is NOTHING like the cable I had in my freshman dorm.

Yeah, they should be paying us for all those fucking advertisements they force us to watch every 2 minutes. Cable TV is cancer.

You're paying 107 a month so your children can learn white heteronormative families suck.

I was paying $110/month for cable nearly 15 years ago because Australia had a whopping 5 channels to otherwise watch. I had it for the 24 months I was contracted to and I remember my ex and I getting in a huge fight over it because I wanted to spend that $110 on getting an unlimited 1.5mb/sec internet connection while she wanted to sign up with pay tv for another 2 years. In the end I was able to put my foot down because it was in my name and cancelled it, signed up for the internet which going from 56k was a HUGE fucking improvement to say the least and begun to pirate absolutely everything I could. Before that I'd download all the music and an odd show or two a week but once I got that sweet internet connection boy oh boy did I go to town. The ex was a bit shitty because I went against her but seeing such a drastic improvement in our browsing speed and proving to her that I was able to download things in a higher quality and without ads compared to what we got with pay tv shut her up in no time at all.

I have to admit I miss the old discovery, history, tech tv, etc. channels but I saw what was on offer a few months back when I stayed in a hotel and nearly rage puked at the screen. I thought they ruined it when they introduced advertising and then doubled down on it but holy fucking hell has it all gone to shit. There's no content, everything is repeated 10x a day, the ads are worse than free to air stations, etc. but the worst thing was the forced diversity and smugness they conveyed you should feel for being one of the cool kids for having their product. It was everywhere and obviously trying to make us feel special for being a consumer and accepting of multiculturalism. I couldn't watch anything for more than 10 mins with a feel good nigger moment shoved down my throat so not even 45 mins after turning the tv on and flipping through the channels that fucker was turned off and I swore I'd never sink to such depths of boredom or curiosity ever again.

The best thing I ever did was cutting the cable and upgrading my internet connection. The next best things were hooking the pc up to a hdtv and upgrading my sound system. I'm now on a 55' 4k tv, 7.2 surround sound and by this time next week I'm going to be on a 50/20mb/sec connection. It was expensive to setup for sure but holy shit you guys there's no comparison. The quality is higher, there's no ads, you can watch it when you want to, there's no regional waiting periods for a show to be released, you own the content forever and you deny the jews their shekels too. Everyone else has already been paid by the time content is released so it's only jews and those like them that make money off the hard work of others than stand to lose and I will never feel bad about fucking them over.

I cut the cord 2 years ago and don't miss anything. So many commercials and unwanted shows. Not worth it.

I bought a firetv, and amazon prime has a fair amount of shows. The rest I can just buy through the service. I don't watch a lot of tv, so it works out to be cheaper. And I'm directly supporting the shows I watch, win win.

Although I might cancel prime, I use it for shopping less and less.

It's because people are dumb enough to pay it. Internet service provider has something like 96% profit.
