Stole a recipe from @tadorno tonight and it was pretty tasty, so I thought I'd share my go to meal: meat sauce with rotini
4 cloves garlic (more if you love garlic)
1 half large white onion (yellow works too, just don't use red)
1 pound ground beef
16 oz spaghetti sauce (if you don't make your own sauce, I suggest buying a basic tomato basil sauce)
White vinegar for deglazing
salt and pepper
Get your pound of beef and put that shit on a plate. Cover the top of it in salt and pepper, and mash that shit all together so the salt and pepper are evenly distributed throughout. Meat is best cooked at room temperature, so you should let it sit before cooking it.
Dice the onion, garlic, and carrot finely, put them in a bowl and mix them together.
Make sure your saucepan is big enough to hold all the ingredients before putting it on the heat.
Add olive oil, enough to saute the veggies.
Just as the oil starts smoking, throw in all the veggies and stir that shit around, making sure to get them all coated in the oil.
As the veggies start turning brown, and you have a good layer of the brown on your pan, it's time to deglaze.
Pour some white vinegar on to deglaze, making sure to scrape that brown shit off the pan, that's where the flavor is.
Toss in the ground beef, mix it in with the cooked veggies and brown it.
After the beef is browned, pour in the sauce and heat it up.
At this point it's already delicious and good to eat, but I like to add shaved parmesan.
I like to eat it with rotini noodles, but it's really up to personal preference
