I hate the use of the term 1%. It vastly overstates the number of people who actually have political influence in the US. The actual number of people who fund and influence politics is not enough to fill a large football stadium, and closer to 0.001%. Not everyone on a high enough salary to qualify as 1% is part of the problem, indeed many are allies or would-be allies.
