Trump knows that everything is bought in DC.

By all means it doesn't take a genius to understand that. I think why Trump appeals to so many is because his understanding of politics is so lacking and is relatable to the majority of U.S. citizens.

Not that I think Trump is going to get elected...however, if he was president, I could see him being just deft enough to play the various interests and parties against one another. He might not have immediate familiarity with overall politics in DC, let alone arcane protocol and procedures, but I could see him nonetheless able to navigate between the various factions and the ugliness that is DC [this is an advantage that Ross Perot appeared to be lacking]. Not that it is probable Trump would do this if elected, just that it is possible. Of course, its far more likely he would be persona non grata and get absolutely nothing done. Also, any bad news that various government agencies or private interests have been holding back all this time would be laid at his feet.

I am not a build-a-wall-with-Mexico-type, I just want somebody to mind the store.

The Obama presidency brought permanent disillusionment of government to the Millenials.

A failed Trump presidency will bring disillusionment to the Boomers.

The Boomers are the last stick in the bundle.
