"Normal" supplies might also be for obsolete firearms that have been phased out. No more 9mm for federal agencies. Might find some service PDWs like the MP5 needing 9mm but all the pistols are going to be either .40 S&w and .357 SIG with corbon ammo from here on out. 52,000 rounds sounds about right if you take in the fact each member has to train, qualify, train, and have enough ammo stored in case of an emergency. The inquiry is bullshit drivel. I've seen my deserve unit burn up 40,000 5.56x45 in a weekend exercise. 52,000 is nothing.

Doesn't that logic kind of imply that they don't have the rounds they need for training the the moment?
It's my (potentially incorrect) understanding that this is 52k rounds in addition to normal supplies they receive.
Either way, I don't pretend to know what this means, it was just a rather interesting bit of news.
